Healthy Blood Pressure Is Within Your Reach
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly one-third of Americans suffers from high blood pressure (hypertension). Another 33 percent have pre-hypertension, where their blood pressure is higher than desired but not high enough to be classified as hypertension.
Hypertension carries a high cost to your health. It is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke, which are in the first and fifth positions for leading causes of death in the U.S. Other complications include dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Only 54 percent of those with hypertension have their blood pressure under control. Unfortunately, the CDC estimates 1 in 5 people are not aware they have hypertension.
